#PawPromise Rescue of the Week: Kalamazoo Animal Rescue
Known as the birthplace of the first documented musical instrument and immortalized in song by the late, great King of Swing Glenn Miller, Kalamazoo, Michigan may conjure up musical memories for many, but the city also strikes a chord with animal lovers thanks to the efforts of an all-volunteer rescue.
Giving our four-legged friends in need the security of home life as they wait for the day when they find their forever families, Kalamazoo Animal Rescue is a non-profit which has offered foster care for adoptables since its start in 1991. All dogs and cats saved by the rescue are spayed/neutered before their adoption, and all receive a clean bill of health by a vet.
Potential pet parents who would like to welcome into their heart and home a tail-wagging chum from Kalamazoo Animal Rescue (like our Adoptable Dog of the Week Gauge or Adoptable Cat of the Week Calie) should click on the link provided on each adoptable's webpage and fill out an online adoption application.
A Kalamazoo Animal Rescue volunteer will contact the interested party with questions via phone or email. As everyone who works for the rescue is giving the precious gift of their time to the paws cause, it may take a few days to receive a response, and the organization asks for the patience of possible adopters.
Approved adopters will have the chance to visit their future furry family member at the foster parent's home, where the potential pet parent can find out more about their new barking buddy or purring pal during a talk with the foster. and together all parties can decide if the pet/parent pairing is a good match.
