Rescue Dogs Star in New BOUNDARIES Movie
Anyone who has ever embarked on a road trip knows that traveling from point A to point B often pales in comparison with the journey of discovery that is taken by each of the cars' occupants as they learn about the other passengers along the way. In the soon to be released Boundaries movie, fans of both films and our four-legged friends take a virtual road trip with Laura (played by Vera Farmiga), a single mother driven to rescue dogs and cats in need, as she travels cross country from Seattle to Los Angeles with her troubled son, her estranged father (portrayed by Academy Award winner Christopher Plummer) and an array of animal charity cases in tow. It's a journey that just might put everyone on the road to a better tomorrow.
Boundaries' Troupe of Tail-wagging Thespians
Showing off their acting chops alongside such acting icons as Christopher Plummer, Vera Farmiga and Peter Fonda are a number of four-pawed film stars, many of whom could tap into their real life backstories as homeless animals to find their inspiration for their roles as animals rescued by the movie's main character. As true cast members of the silver screen presentation their bios even appear in the Sony Pictures Classics website promoting the upcoming release!
Among the film's pack of purring and barking performers is Tashie. Rocking an Elizabethan collar on screen, the rescued Rover (who now has a forever home) has come a long way from the day when she was found, undernourished and depressed. Squirt and her siblings collectively play the part of "rescue puppy." The four-month-old Chihuahua mix fur babies loved lapping up not only the limelight in the front of the camera, but also the attention lavished on them from the movie's many crew members. A rescued terrier mix who answers to "Alfie" also enjoyed his time in the spotlight-- and cruising in style in the Rolls-Royce that appears in the road trip movie. The cast also includes Loretta, a terrier rescue who plays a prominent role both in the movie and in the life of Shana Feste, who wrote and directed Boundaries.
Stars and Rescue Dogs Attend Special Screening
The red carpet was recently rolled out at The Roxy Cinema in New York City for a special screening of Boundaries which included appearances from some of the flick's four-and two-legged stars:
Christopher Plummer, who previously shared the big screen with a Jack Russell Terrier from a rescue organization in the movie Beginners (and praised his canine co-star during his Golden Globes acceptance speech), made a furry friend at the event. So did Peter Fonda, who has shown his support for the option of pet adoption by promoting Adopt a Dog Month in a PSA for the American Humane Association:
Director Shana Feste struck a pose with her dog (and Boundaries star) Loretta, Vera Farmiga and Christopher Plummer. An animal lover who is always prepared to help a stray on the street by equipping her car with pet food and leashes, Feste states: "I'm what the shelters call a "bottle-feeder." I'm on a short list of truly insane volunteers that will bottle feed an orphaned cat or dog 24 hours a day, sometimes every 2 hours….While it is incredibly challenging there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a two-day old pit bull that looks more like a mole turn into a beautiful silky coated puppy because of all your hard work and middle of the night feeds."
The screening's special guests included A-list actor and ASPCA supporter Sir Patrick Stewart and his wife, singer/songwriter Sunny Ozell:
...and North Shore Animal League America spokesperson/cat foster Beth Stern, who acted as the event's co-host:
Rated R, Boundaries will be unleashed June 22, 2018 in Los Angeles and New York City, and will soon arrive in movie theaters across the country!
